Zojirushi coffee manufacturers are a comparatively little company by today’s standards. They are a company known for quality kitchen appliances such as rice cookers, bread manufacturers and vacuum pots. A company in the first place formed in Osaka, Japan way back in 1918 – they have gone on to become a multinational manufacturer owning subsidiary companies in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and America.

So what makes a Zojirushi coffeemaker so good? They are after all a company known for making rice cookers… While this may be true, Zojirushi are also a company who have become very well known for designing functional, timeless gadgets with out too a heap of bells and whistles. In today’s market, it seems you may buy a coffee brewer in 20 dissimilar sizes and a dozen dissimilar colors. Zojirushi on the other hand have kept unfeigned to there ‘minimalist approach.’

In the Zojirushi range of machines, they have only purchased out two models. One is a 10-cup stainless steel coffee maker with thermal carafe. The other is a much littler 5-cup coffee brewer. Both of these Zojirushi coffee brewers have been rated by some people as their “best thermal coffee maker” or “best drip coffee maker”.

The 10-cup thermal coffee maker model is a very classy looking brewer. Both the thermal carafe and the brewing basket are covered in a brushed stainless steel that just look fantastic. This covering around the brewing basket also acts as insulation, so when you are brewing fresh hot coffee into your thermal carafe, it doesn’t go cold for the duration of the brewing process. Despite not having a warming element, this coffee maker with thermal carafe is competent to keep your coffee hot for assorted hours. A tip is to add warm water to the water reservoir, not ice cold water. This will keep the temperature up a touch.

If you are after a littler coffee brewer for the office, dorm room or holiday house – The Zojirushi 5-cup coffee brewer could be right up your alley. It weighs just 3 1/2 lb. and has a tiny footprint measuring only 6 x 8 7/8 x 10 5/8 inches. It has a very sleek look to it, and comes in a versatile silvery gray color.

So whatsoever your coffee needs, the Zojirushi coffee brewers range has beauteous much covered the main bases. A clean and simple timeless design with practical features have made these machines very general in the coffee machine reviews and ratings.

Keeps coffee hot!

We lost power after hurricane Ike, and due to the cost of running the generator, were very conservative when it comes to using the generator for almost two weeks. We were making coffee in the evening, then drinking it cold (yuck) in the morning.

Luckily UPS was running shortly after the storm and we were members of Amazon Prime with their more quickly shipping included in the membership. We purchased and received this carafe for the duration of the original week without power.

It’s great. Coffee was still very hot after 10-12 hours in the carafe, and it held sufficient for four typical coffee mugs. Have to be careful with it as it has the glass liner, but I’m very pleased with this purchase. Have tucked it away for the next power outage (would be nice if I didn’t need it ever again), but for a good looking carafe that keeps the beverage HOT, this one is a great choice.

Great For My Needs

With a manual drip Filter Cone I may make 1 L of coffee directly into this carafe in three minutes or less. Coffee still is 150 degree F after being left for the length of one night for over eight hours. The Screw top is a bit annoying but you get employed to it after a while. Have had the unit for in regards to a month without any issues.

very good temp keeping time

This carafe will hold Coffee temperature almost unchanged for 3-4 hours. The little opening make a bottle brush handy for cleaning.
